Low-voltage and high-voltage vacuum contactors differ somewhat in their operating environments. Here are some of the differences:
Low-voltage and high-voltage vacuum contactors have some differences in their operating environments. Here are the differences between them:
1. Operating Voltage Range: Low-voltage vacuum contactors are mainly used in low-voltage circuits, typically below 1000V. High-voltage vacuum contactors are used in high-voltage circuits, typically above 1000V, and can even reach tens of kilovolts.
2. Insulation Strength Requirements: High-voltage vacuum contactors require higher insulation strength to prevent arcing and breakdown. Therefore, their insulation materials and structural design must withstand higher electric field strength and voltage stress.
3. Size and Structure: Because high-voltage vacuum contactors need to handle larger currents and voltages, they are usually larger and heavier than low-voltage vacuum contactors and have stricter structural strength and heat dissipation designs.
4. Safety Distance Requirements: Since high-voltage vacuum contactors may generate large arcs and voltage gradients during operation, larger safety distances are required during installation and wiring to ensure operator safety.
5. Operating Environment Requirements: The operating environment of high-voltage vacuum contactors will pay more attention to insulation and explosion-proof aspects to deal with potential faults and accidents under high voltage. Low-voltage vacuum contactors are relatively simpler and do not require particularly harsh operating environment conditions.
In general, compared with low-voltage vacuum contactors, high-voltage vacuum contactors have significant differences in voltage range, insulation requirements, size and structure, safety distance, and operating environment. When selecting and using them, the appropriate vacuum contactor should be selected according to the specific circuit environment and requirements.
